Resident Evil 7 Guides: Marguerite Baker

Resident Evil 7 is available now and since we’ve had our hands on it for a while, we’ve put together some quick guides to help you out if you get stuck, need some help or to just give you or tips on how to get the best from the game.

A word of warning though, these guides are like to contain SPOILERS, so if you’ve yet to play or finish the game you might be best holding off. If you’re not one to worry too much, keep on reading.

 1. Normal & Madhouse

After you’ve managed to clear the bottom floor of the old house, found the Crow Key and dealt with Marguerite throwing you in a pit, you’ll need to fight her in the greenhouse.

Marguerite will be in her bug form and will climb on walls, leap on top of you and give birth to bugs and bug nests. Marguerite is probably one of the easier bosses in the game, she just takes some patience and careful shooting

In her bug form, right between her legs, Marguerite has an exposed insect abdomen which is weak to gunfire. The key to this battle is again, to be prepared. After completing the old house you will have the Burner and some fuel which you’ll need to take care of the bugs that spawn.

To take care of Marguerite you’ll need your shotgun, handgun and the grenade launcher. The grenade launcher is located behind the Crow Key door inside the house so make sure you collect it before starting the fight in the greenhouse.

Once inside, head up the stairs and Marguerite will appear through a window and grab you. Make sure you have your shotgun equipped and shoot her in the face so she lets you go. She will disappear back through the window. Run upstairs all the way and Marguerite will drop down and grab you again. Shoot her again and then head outside and down to the bottom level of the greenhouse.

Once out here you’ll need to wait for Marguerite to come and attack, which she’ll do fairly often. If you hear her struggling it means she’s birthing bugs so be ready to switch to the Burner and get rid of them. If Marguerite is above you make sure to stay on the move or simply hold L1/LT to block her leaping attack.

Keep shooting her in the abdomen until she is finished.

On Madhouse she has a massive amount of health so make sure to stock up on ammo and to run around the greenhouse and collect the ammo and Chem Fluid scattered around.
