Elden Ring Nightreign introduces the new Guardian character

Bandai and From Software have unveiled the latest character for Elden Ring Nightreign. The Guardian appears to be a giant humanoid eagle, complete with wings and a beak. Per the announce trailer, “Take flight once more, and crush the dark abominations that stand in your path. Let your shield be the bastion of hope that shall guide your flock to victory.

Elden Ring Nightreign is set in a procedurally generated version of Limgrave, dubbed Limveld and features a shrinking gameplay area, similar to a battle royale. As each in-game day progresses, the gameplay area shrinks until the third day, when the Nightlord appears.

Per Bandai Namco, “In ELDEN RING Nightreign, players must make split-second decisions about combat and exploration across a map that can fluctuate with different biomes, weapons, and enemies in order to become stronger, and outrun the encroaching circle of fire to be able to take on terrifying bosses at the end of each day.”

Every time players survive the horrors of Elden Ring Nightreign and make it to the third day, they will need to take one of the Nightlords. Dubbed Nightfarers, players will need to fight the Nightlords and learn to co-operate in order to survive.

Bandai Namco advise, “All is not lost for those who fall in defeat. Unsuccessful runs will grant players relics to allow them to customize and upgrade their characters tailored to their personal play styles.”

Elden Ring Nightreign is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on 30 May 2025. Pre-orders are now open, and two versions are available.

  • Standard Edition
    • Includes Base Game
  • Seekers Edition
    • Includes Deluxe Edition
    • Steelbook
