I’ve been playing videogames for just about as long as I can remember. When I was four years old my Dad brought me home a NES and Super Mario Bros. and that was the beginning of a lifelong love affair.
Games have meant many things to me throughout my life thus far. Good things, bad things and interesting things, but they’ve always been there. As an escape during my inevitable teen-angst, emo phase. As a reason to wag school in my rebellious teen phase. As a way to make new friends and of course as the subject and focus of creative endeavours.
I’ve been an active part of the Australian Games Industry for the several years and with PowerUp! I’m aiming to create a friendly, inclusive and above all fun community of like-minded people. Nothing is too big or small for me and my team and we are dedicated to creating the highest quality content. I couldn’t possibly be more excited for the future.

Meg’s rhapsodic adventure into the industry of games and social media began within a small bar at the top end of Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley–the Mana Bar. Since that time in 2010, Meg had prepared for and worked throughout the Melbourne venue launch, and shortly thereafter taking on the managerial title. Prior to the closure of the Melbourne venue, Meg led the charge towards hosting numerous events, including private functions and game launches, as well as liaising with some of the industry’s top celebrities.
Never really having been one to just take on single project at any given time, Meg went on to university studies whilst keeping her proverbial fingers in games and social media pies, eventually setting her sights on the happenings of The Arcade. From there, she met up with and joined the ranks of Melbourne’s own League of Geeks in 2015 as a contractual Quality Assurance Analyst, and shortly thereafter, as an Account Executive with the continuously burgeoning Lumi Consulting. Not long after the opening of Bonnie Bradley and Skaidris Gunsmiths’ new venture, Beta Bar, Meg teamed back up with the old Mana Bar Crew with the aim of keeping the community alive and flourishing.
Of course, it isn’t all about the games life; when funds permit, Meg usually buys the first convenient ticket to Japan or the US, spending time with friends or soaking up the sights and exploring. On the occasion of visiting homeward, she enjoys SCUBA diving and camping with her father, and taking a page out of the new and exciting sights and festivities book with her mum. She has two cats named Washburne and Mordin, both of whom have lovable and humorous personalities.
Apace with everything, Meg has since been working within Lumi alongside various studios and companies such as Mighty Games, Unity, and Deakin Motion.Lab, constantly setting sights on grander aspirations. You’ll often see Meg in amongst the hustle and bustle of PAX Aus, volunteering at any one of many Supanova Conventions, or co-ordinating and managing aspects of many other industry conferences, exhibitions and events.

James literally cannot recall a time in which video games weren’t a part of his life.
A childhood hobby turned adult fascination, gaming has been one of the few constants in his life.
Whether it be rolling across Hyrule field in a race against a setting sun and rising drawbridge, or gently sobbing into a pillow as the credits roll on the story of Edith Finch, James can’t help but find himself deeply involved in whatever he plays.
Any genre will do so long as he can wax lyrically about it later and now having made the jump from enthusiast to enthusiast press he can not wait to see where the art form, and the industry as a whole, goes next.

I’ve been playing video games and playing with tech since the eighties as little kid growing up in beautiful Kampala, Uganda. Initiated by Nintendo’s awesome Donkey Kong Game & Watch which the 2d/ 3d XL consoles got their inspiration.
Since then, I’ve been hooked. With video games, I could save the galaxy, rescue the princess or beat the crap out of green Brazilian monster with rocker hair — Ha-dou-ken!
I was a die hard Nintendo fanboy owning every console till the N64. By that time, the competition had finally surpassed Nintendo and PC gaming also captured my heart – I learnt all about computers because of gaming.
I love the way games can inspire the imagination, teach and sometimes, even heal. I became a Digital Designer because I wanted to make such magic(although I never actually did get into game design)
I love gorgeous visuals, smooth gameplay and moving narratives and I’m so excited for this generation of gaming. Thanks to hardware advances, we now have to life-size scale game worlds so rich with content that games are no longer the jump, dodge and flip switch affair.
It’s an exciting time to be a gamer indeed and I’m blessed to be sharing it with you.
A cross-genre gamer and artist, he tries to find the art in everything, be it life or gaming. Visuals impress him, but experiences impress him even more. A lover of FPS, and RPG games typically with a science fiction flare, he’s just as happy swinging a long sword saving mud farming peasants as with a laser rifle.
Multiplayer and community involvement is his main jam as the love of playing with the crew and the thrill that goes with it runs deep. His gaming roots lie within the table top war gaming and RPG hobby communities.
Manch likes his gaming like his whisky, all day, every day. Gaming since the days of Sega Master System turned from past time to obsession and he now traverses the realm known as online multiplayer. Whether it be competitive or friendly, this guy loves the social side of gaming.
His obsession has been taken to new heights and now he wants to bring you along for the ride. Be it reviews, news, streaming or even an invite to game together he’ll be sure to make it fun and probably a bit sweary.
Quote: “I am a man of only one regret…… and that was a horse! named regret.”
I am a video game guy.
I’ve been playing games all my life and am an avid fan of games new and old. I’m also a fighting game enthusiast and an arcade tragic.
Hi, my name is San and I’m a Content Producer here at PowerUp!
On most days you’ll find me playing League of Legends or trying my luck at an indie title or two. I grew up on Nintendo for most of my younger years beginning with the N64.
Currently, I’m fascinated with the eSports industry and I’m probably a bit too competitive for my own good. Chrono Cross is probably my favorite game ever.
