DOOM: The Dark Ages Guide – How Many missions are there in DOOM: The Dark Ages?

DOOM: The Dark Ages isn’t far off now. You can read our review right now if you’d like to know our thoughts on it, but long story short, “it’s a sacrilicious ritual of stripped-down slaughter that’s worthy of possession.”

Where DOOM 2016 was set on Mars and in Hell, and DOOM Eternal took place (mostly) on Earth, DOOM: The Dark Ages serves as a prequel to both games and is set in a world ripped straight from the pages of Heavy Metal.

Across DOOM: The Dark Ages, you’ll be ripping and tearing as the DOOM Slayer and learn how he became the demon-killing machine we see in DOOM 2016.

How Many Missions in DOOM: The Dark Ages?

DOOM: The Dark Ages sees an increase in total missions from DOOM Eternal, which only had 13. DOOM: The Dark Ages has a whopping 22 missions, and as Adam says in his review, “these Mancubus-sized levels let you Choose Your Own Adventure with objectives and side conquests and/or collectibles that aren’t exactly well hidden on your map. Some of these overworlds are intimidatingly sprawling, to the point where they want for custom objective marker functionality on your map screen.”

The names of the missions do contain some spoilers, so to preserve the experience, we have only named the first five in our list below and will add the remainder once DOOM: The Dark Ages hits early access.

When you’re done, you can always try to beat DOOM: The Dark Ages on Ultra-Nightmare like Adam did.

DOOM: The Dark Ages will be available on 15 May 2025 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
