Developer Mighty Kingdom and publisher Funcom have announced Conan Chop Chop will be available on March 1, 2022. First announced on April 1 in 2019, Conan Chop Chop was assumed by many to be an April’s Fool prank, thankfully, that’s not the case and very soon this multiplayer rogue-lite will be available.
Set in the Conan the Barbarian universe, Conan Chop Chop is a hilarious, cartoony take on the character and the world. With 2D, stick figure-like visuals and a crazy, Cartoon Network vibe, Conan Chop Chop looks like Castle Crashers for 2022.
Conan Chop Chop
In Conan Chop Chop, Might Kingdon says players will “Enter the Wrath-a-Thon, a fiendish challenge created by the evil sorcerer Thoth-Amon to trap the heroes of Hyboria. Crush, kill and maim your enemies with an arsenal of savage weapons as you and your friends take on the minions of evil. Upgrade your village, upgrade your skills and upgrade yourself (seriously, this game will make you a better person).”
The developer goes on to call Conan Chop Chop the “most epic and realistic stick figure game ever to be set in the world of Conan the Barbarian.” Shit, I think they’ve got us there…
Featuring both online and couch co-op, a huge cast of characters, a huge number of item, weapon and armour combos and a procedurally generated game world. No two runs of Conan Chop Chop will be the same. If you’re not convinced Conan Chop Chop is for you, Might Kingdom hopes the free demo coming to Steam and Switch on February 21 will change your mind.
Players can pre-order Conan Chop Chop on Switch for $27.99 AUD or on Xbox for $29.99 AUD.
“Conan is a barbarian who has been forged in the flames of battle; his grit and determination, his blood, sweat and tears have made him the formidable warrior we all love,” said Kimbo Forrest, Creative Lead at Mighty Kingdom. “And our blood, sweat and tears have given you this: a Conan adventure unlike any the world has witnessed before. An experience not just for the veteran fans, but one to draw in and delight new audiences.”
Conan Chop Chop launches on March 1, 2022.
