Rainbow Six Siege esports adds Asia-Pacific League for 2020

Today, Ubisoft has announced a brand-new Asia-Pacific League for Rainbow Six Siege esports. The new league will be split into two division, North and South. The North Division will encompass Japan, South Korea and Southeast Asia while the South Division will include Australia, New Zealand, Polynesia, Micronesia and Melanesia, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

The North Division will include 12 teams who will compete in a single league. Once each stage has been completed, the top six teams from the North Division will head to the Asia-Pacific playoffs.

Whereas, in the South Division, two independant divisions — Oceania and South Asia — will compete and following each South Division Nationals, the South Division playoffs will determine the two teams which will play in the Asia-Pacific League playoffs.

  • Tech improvements backstage, that will ultimately create a more engaging stream for the viewers to watch.

Finally, a upgraded and updated path-to-pro has been unveiled by Ubisoft,

Nationals in the North Division countries will have the possibility to compete in a Promotion/Relegation system for a chance to enter the following season of the North Division league. In the South Division, the Oceanic and South Asia Nationals will fuel the South Division Playoffs, offering teams from those subregions a chance to compete in the Asia-Pacific League Playoffs to claim a spot for the Six Major.
