Destiny 2’s Prestige Raid delayed due to bug fixing

Destiny 2’s Prestige difficulty for the Leviathan Raid has been delayed. Bungie announced the delay in a post on its website earlier today.

The reason for the delay is a bug. It was discovered that the bug, or exploit, would negate the Prestige difficulty. Effectively the Prestige Raid would only be as hard as it normally is.

Kind of defeats the purpose of ‘hard mode’ right?

An exploit has been discovered in the Leviathan Raid that causes the encounters to be stripped of their intended challenge. To allow time to fix this issue, we are delaying the start of the Prestige Raid until next week. It’s important to us that the team who earns World First status doesn’t have their legacy tarnished by doubt, skepticism, or uncertainty.

The new start time for the Prestige Raid is Wednesday, October 18, at 10AM Pacific.

As you can see above, Bungie is also keen to avoid any controversy. If a fireteam did finish it while the bug was present, their world first status might be called into question.

The Prestige difficulty for Leviathan will go live 4 AM AEDT, October 19.

Destiny 2 is available now.
