PS4 owners have a lot to celebrate today, with God of War finally available. This new entry in the franchise is an amazing game and easily one of the best of this generation. But how long is it? How many chapters in God of War?

Well, thankfully, we have the answers.

We know that Cory Barlog claims God of War takes about 40-hours to 100%, but what about the story? Is it long enough to keep you interested?

The answer is a resounding yes. God of War’s story is not only engaging and engrossing, it’s just long enough to stay enjoyable and never overstays its welcome. As you complete each chapter, the story unfolds and Kratos’ journey continues.

How many chapters in God of War?

Now, God of War isn’t technically split up into chapters, but the main quest — called Journey in your log — includes a number of objectives. Each of these includes one or more sub-objectives too, but the main objectives could each be considered a chapter of their own.

All up there are 17 of these objectives or chapters. There are between one and 24 sub-objectives within each chapter and the time it takes to complete each one varies considerably. However, to finish God of War‘s story, you’re looking at around 20+ hours depending on which difficulty you select.

For example, the first Chapter — The Marked Trees — includes six sub-objectives. One or two of these can be completed in little more than a few minutes, while others will take some time. The same can be said of each of the 17 Chapters in God of War.

I’ve included the names of each chapter below, however, they do contain some light story information, so the spoiler-averse might not want to read.

All of God of War’s 17-Chapters – SPOILERS BELOW

As mentioned above, below is the list of all 17 Chapters in God of War. The names of the chapters do include story information, so be warned, there are spoilers.
