God of War Ragnarok Guide: How Many Chapters in God of War Ragnarok?

PS4 & PS5 owners have a lot to celebrate today, with God of War Ragnarok finally available. This new entry in the franchise is an amazing game and easily one of the best of this generation. How many chapters in God of War Ragnarok? Is it a worthy sequel?

Well, thankfully, we have the answers.

The answer is a resounding yes. God of War Ragnarok’s story is not only engaging and engrossing, it’s just long enough to stay enjoyable and never overstays its welcome. As you complete each chapter, the story unfolds and Kratos’ journey continues.

How many chapters in God of War Ragnarok?

Now, God of War Ragnarok isn’t technically split up into chapters, but the main quest — called The Path in your log — includes a number of objectives. Each of these includes one or more sub-objectives too, but the main objectives could each be considered a chapter of their own.

All up there are 11 of these objectives or chapters. A final, end-game chapter, is also available though it doesn’t really count as a chapter overall. There are multiple sub-objectives within each chapter and the time it takes to complete each one varies considerably. However, to finish God of War Ragnarok’s story, you’re looking at around 30+ hours depending on which difficulty you select.

For example, the first Chapter — Surviving Fimbulwinter — includes seven sub-objectives. One or two of these can be completed in little more than a few minutes, while others will take some time. The same can be said of each of the 11 Chapters in God of War Ragnarok.

I’ve included the names of each chapter below, however, they do contain some light story information, so the spoiler-averse might not want to read.

All of God of War Ragnarok’s 11-Chapters – SPOILERS BELOW

As mentioned above, below is the list of all 17 Chapters in God of War. The names of the chapters do include story information, so be warned, there are spoilers.
