Announced at X019, Nexon America’s KartRider: Drift is a cross-platform, kart racer coming to Xbox One, Steam and Nexon Launcher. Originally launched for PC in 2004, KartRider has 300 million players across Asia. In South Korea, KartRider is an esports drawcard and with the move to Xbox One, KartRider: Drift has the potential to be the biggest game in the franchise yet.

A closed beta for KartRider: Drift and its cross-platform capabilities is planned for December 6, 2019. The closed beta will give players a chance to try three modes and to play cross-platform.

Meant to players the ability to express themselves through customisation and cosmetics, KartRider allows for custom karts and characters.

To sign up for the closed beta, head to the official website here. When it launches on December 6, participants will have access to Time Atack, Item Mode and Speed Mode.

Item Mode is “easy to learn,” while Speed Mode “offers hard-to-master” drifting. Built using the Unreal Engine 4, KartRider: Drift is fully optimised for online and has been designed to deliver the best experience possible.

Planned content for the game includes evolving seasonal updates and more.

KartRider: Drift’s closed beta begins on December 6.
