Jedi Fallen Order introduces new Lightsaber colours to Star Wars canon

The long wait is over. You can finally play Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order and see the fruits of Respawn’s labour. You can read our extensive review here and see what our resident Star Wars expert, James, thought of the game. Fallen Order tells the story of Cal Kestis, a Padawan hiding from the Empire in the wake of Order 66.

The game takes place across a number of planets in the Star Wars canon and features Dark Souls-lite combat, Uncharted and Tomb Raider style exploration and some light Metroidvania mechanics.

Interestingly, Jedi Fallen Order lets you build and customise your own lightsaber. In doing so, it also introduces new saber colours to the Star Wars canon.

Jedi Fallen Order

Early on in the game, Cal can choose between blue and green for his lightsabre but later, Respawn introduces some new options. While some of the options have appeared in Star Wars canon before and other may have been a part of the old Star Wars Legends canon.

As you can see in the gallery above, Cal has the option to build a lightsaber from the following colours;

  • Blue
  • Green
  • Purple
  • Yellow
  • Cyan
  • Magenta
  • Indigo

In the current Star Wars canon, known colours are Blue, Green, Purple, Red, Yellow, White and Black. This means that Magenta, Cyan and Indigo are three new colours added to Star Wars canon with Jedi Fallen Order.

At any point throughout the game, when you find a workbench, you can customise your lightsaber with different colours, Emitters, Switches, Sleeves and Materials.

There are a lot of options to choose from too, so everyone should be able to make the lightsaber of their dreams.

Jedi Fallen Order is available now for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
