2K and WWE 2K20 partner with The Leukaemia & Lymphoma Society to raise funds for research

2K has announced today that with WWE 2K20 and in honour of cover star Roman Reigns, it is partnering with The Leukaemia & Lymphoma Society to raise awareness and funds to support “breakthrough blood cancer research to advance lifesaving treatments and critical support for patients and their families.”

Cover star Roman Reigns is himself a leukaemia survivor which makes the partnership a no-brainer.

2K will utilise the WWE Twitter account to signal a call to arms for fans. By retweeting the tweet below, fans will ensure that 2K donates $2 to LLS, up to a total of $500,000.

WWE 2K20 Cancer Support

To help support this initiative, fans won’t need to make a purchase or donation themselves. Instead, they simply need to help spread the word by retweeting.

While 2K has committed to donate a total of $500,000 to the LLS, it will also donate copies of 2K games to blood cancer patients as well as organise hospital visits by WWE Superstars.

WWE 2K20 not only features Reigns on the cover, it also puts him in the spotlight in 2K Towers.

The Tower will follow Reigns through his career and focus on his time in The Shield, rivalry with John Cena, Undertaker, Brock Lesnar and will take place over 16 matches.

By completing Roman Reigns Tower players will “live out key chapters in Reigns’ impressive mark on WWE history, all while claiming championships and igniting the WWE Universe along the way.”

The details of 2K’s Twitter drive is as follows;

Starts on September 10, 2019 and ends on October 22, 2019 or the date when the Maximum Donation is reached, whichever occurs first (“Program Period”).  Sponsor will donate $2.00 (US) to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society® (LLS) (a non-for-profit corporation) for each retweet of the Program Tweet (each an “Action”) up to a total maximum of $500,000 Dollars (US).

WWE 2K20 will be available on October 22, 2019.
