Gears of War fans have plenty of reason to be excited as Gears 5 is here. Starring Kait Diaz, Del Walker, JD Fenix and, of course, Marcus Fenix, the latest entry in the franchise continues the story established in Gears of War 4. Set 25-years or so after Gears of War 3, it was revealed that the Locust didn’t die and had instead evolved into the Swarm.
In Gears 5, Kait is seeking answers to her lineage, especially her connection to the Locust. Humanity is facing all-out war with the Swarm and maybe figuring out who Kait is, holds the key to stopping the Swarm once and for all.
As is standard in Gears of War, Gears 5 has collectibles for players to find in most chapters.
This guide is for Act 1, Chapter 2 – Diplomacy.
Gears 5 Collectibles Guide
You start the second chapter in Baird’s lab. On a desk behind you is an old photograph.
Grab it before you leave the lab or you’ll miss it.
Next, look around the lab for some wooden boxes with the words ‘Medical’ on the side. They should be between some shelves and in front of a door that’s closed.
On top of one of the boxes is a blueprint for the Lancer.
From here, go to Baird for his training but before you go through the door, look to your right. You should see a small metal trolley with a takeaway container on top.
To the right of the container is a piece of paper which is collectible number three for chapter 2.
After you leave Baird’s lab, you’ll be taken to the gym. Watch the cutscene with Fahz fighting the robot and when it’s over, look past the robot on the floor to the wall behind it.
On the wall is a poster. Grab it, that’s the next collectible. It will appear in your collectibles list as the last for the chapter.
Don’t panic, you can still grab the last one you need before finishing the chapter.
Leave the gym and head towards Jinn’s office. Before you go through the doors leading to her office — opposite the reception desk — look on the couch to the left.
On the couch is a brochure which is the last collectible for this chapter.
