Oz Comic-Con is coming back to Melbourne in June

The organisers of Oz Comic-Con have announced that the event is coming back to Melbourne this June. Taking place from June 8 through 9, Oz Comic-Con in Melbourne will feature a weekend full of pop-culture entertainment.

Attendees will get up close and personal with the stars of their favourite films, TV shows, comic books, cartoons and more. The event will also feature esports and a freeplay gaming area.

As with all ‘Cons,’ Oz Comic-Con will also feature panels for fans to get a deeper insight into their favourites.

Oz Comic-Con Melbourne

Oz Comic-Con was first held in 2012 and has gone from strength to strength in the ensuing years. Now, it’s one of the most important events on the annual pop-culture calendar.

In 2019, Oz Comic-Con Melbourne will cater to fans of all ages and will include a Marvel colouring wall, comic art workshops for kids and even a kids cosplay parade. Comic fans will be able to check out the Comic District and meet special comic guests while gamers will be able to head to the Gaming Zone for competitions and freeplay.

The Australian Championships of Cosplay will be held at Oz Comic-Con and is presented by Spotlight and Brother. The Australian Championships of Cosplay is the first step in the ‘Quest For the Crown’ which is a global cosplay competition.

Whoever is crowned overall winner for Australia will represent the country at the 2020 C2E2 Championships of Cosplay in Chicago.

Confirmed guests for Oz Comic-Con are;

  • Dominic Sherwood and Alberto Rosende – Shadowhunters
  • Dean Rankine – The Simpsons, Rick and Morty, Futurama
  • Nicola Scott – Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman
  • Carla Wyzgala – Hidden Door Comics

New announcements will be made each week in the lead up to the event so keep an eye on Oz Comic-Con on both Twitter and Facebook. Tickets are on sale now and you can get up to 33% off with early bird prices.
