Nintendo releases Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze Switch Gameplay footage

Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze on Switch is releasing soon. To celebrate, Nintendo has released Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze Switch gameplay footage. The port of the Wii U game includes some new features and a new character, Funky Kong.

When playing as Funky Kong players can “double jump, hover, perform infinite rolls and even perform infinite underwater corkscrews.”

Funky Kong’s surfboard means that not even spikes can stop him.

Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze Switch Gameplay

Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze on Wii U ran at 720p, upscaled to 1080p and 60fps. Given the increased power of the Switch, it’s likely that it will run natively in 1080p when docked and 720p in handheld mode.

It also appears that the Switch version will run at 60fps.

Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze on Switch was announced during the most recent Nintendo Direct.

Check out the gameplay footage below.

It will be released on May 4, 2018.
