Far Cry 5 is headed to gamers everywhere on March 27, 2018. Following its release, Ubisoft will provide season pass holders with a variety of experiences throughout time and space. The content will also be available to those who own the Gold Edition of Far Cry 5.
The contents of the season pass add-ons have recently been announced and it seems as though Ubisoft is following up the success of Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. The DLC for Far Cry 4 was all set within the same universe and played things very straight. It wasn’t incredibly well received on release, however, Blood Dragon was.
Mental DLC
In that vein, Far Cry 5’s DLC will include;
- “Hours of Darkness”: Players will travel back in time to Vietnam to battle against Việt Cộng soldiers
- “Dead Living Zombies”: Players will face hordes of zombies across multiple b-movie scenario
- “Lost on Mars”: Players will leave Earth behind to go toe-to-claws with Martian arachnids
These three are the most bonkers expansions for Far Cry yet. All of them sound incredibly exciting and a step in the right direction as far as additional content is concerned.
Far Cry 3: Classic Edition
In addition to the special DLC, all season pass owners will receive a free copy of Far Cry 3: Classic Edition. Far Cry 3: Classic Edition will see a standalone release in Winter 2018. Those who own the season pass will receive their copy of Far Cry 3: Classic Edition four weeks prior to release.
Ubisoft has promised to release additional details on the three additional adventures and the return of the map editor at a later date. Far Cry 5 is the first in the franchise to be set in the United States and players will fight to free Hope County, Montana from the clutches of the Project at Eden’s Gate cult.
Far Cry 5 will be available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on March 27, 2018.
