Nanoleaf Hexagons are inspired by nature.

Nanoleaf, renowned for its totally nerdy and amazing smart panel lights has announced the newest addition to their line up — the Shapes Hexagons. The Hexagons are the first in a new category of Shapes Line; modular smart lights with shape interconnectivity.

Gimmy Chu, CEO and co-founder of Nanoleaf says the company is constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible with lighting so that users can create uniquely personal experiences. He goes on to say “With our new Shapes Hexagons leading the Smart Decor category, we’re fusing technology and design to bring to life the intelligence of smart lighting while encouraging creativity through flexible, unified capabilities.”

What makes the Hexagons special is their unique new modular design which allows for nearly limitless shape combinations. Each panel has an improved snap-on mounting system that’s easy to place on different wall surfaces. The panels are also much thinner and have subtly rounded corners that give them a softer, more natural look.

Each Hexagon can display up to 16.8 million colours and when combined with Nanoleaf’s exclusive LayoutDetect Technology, you can have smooth colour transitions in real-time. Additionally, the panels have a wealth of features such as Screen mirroring and Rhythm Music sync which changes the colours in tune with your music or what you’re watching on screen.

The Hexagons are WiFi-controlled via the Nanoleaf App available for Android and IOS. The panels are touch-enabled so you can control them with a palm press or play games. And of course, the panels respond to digital assistants so you can boss them around without lifting a finger. The Hexagons are compatible with the Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Samsung SmartThings.

The Nanoleaf Shapes Hexagons are available for preorder at JB Hi-Fi for $350 which includes 9 panels, a 240V power supply as well as the linkers for connecting the panels and mounting tape.
