World of Tanks’ 10th Anniversary celebration has begun, runs for four months

Wargaming has announced that World of Tanks‘ 10th-anniversary celebration has begun. For the next four months, World of Tanks’ 160 million registered players are invited to join the party which include thematic activities, throwbacks, missions and more. The celebrations will culminate in a big event in August.

Released 10 years ago, World of Tanks has been updated to introduce “thousands of features, unleashed hundreds of events, launched 11 nations and 600 vehicles, and garnered over 160 million registered players globally in the process.” World of Tanks even has a Guinness World Record for most players simultaneously logged into an MMO server.

Now, with 10 years under its belt, Wargaming is inviting fans to join in on the celebrations, earn prizes and take part in the five storytelling Acts that correspond to the game’s history.

World of Tanks

Max Chuvalov, Publishing Director of World of Tanks said;

For the team and I, the past 10 years have allowed us to make more than a successful game – it has seen the formation of one big, global family. On behalf of the World of Tanks team, I want to say a heartfelt thank you to our players over the years.

You’ve stuck with us through different stages of the game’s development and helped us to create one of the most impactful MMOs in gaming history. As a reward, we have prepared a lot of exciting activities and additions, things that will surprise and please you – all in celebration of 10 amazing years.

And remember, together, we can continue to create amazing experiences. So, let the party begin!

The first of the five Acts will be available between April 21 and May 18. By playing, players can earn Anniversary Coins which can be exchanged for special in-game items. The first Act will see General Chat return in Random Battles between April 21 and 28.

World of Tanks is available on PC.
