Mario Kart Tour is coming to smartphones in September

Nintendo’s foray into mobile gaming continues next month when Mario Kart Tour launches for iOS and Android devices. Pre-registration is now open on both the App Store and Google Play. Mario Kart Tour will be ‘free-to-start’ and will require a Nintendo Account.

Unlike console versions of Mario Kart, Tour’s tracks will be based on real-world locations rather than just being set in the Mushroom Kingdom.

Players will be able to collect characters, karts and gliders and choose which they use when they race.

The new courses, those based on real cities, will also feature special City courses during in-game events. Nintendo has also announced that some characters may get variations that “incorporate the local flavour of cities featured in the game.”

Nintendo has released a teaser trailer (below) and a gameplay trailer (above) to give fans a taste of what they can expect when Mario Kart Tour launches next month.

Mario Kart Tour is coming to iOS and Android on September 25, 2019.
