Everything we know about Ghost Recon Breakpoint

Earlier this month, Ubisoft announced a brand-new Ghost Recon title; Ghost Recon Breakpoint.

Coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One, Ghost Recon Breakpoint stars Jon Bernthal — The Walking Dead, Punisher — as Lt. Colonel Cole D. Walker. Walker and his elite unit of former Ghosts, The Wolves, have gone rogue and taken over Auroa Island.

Players will play as Nomad, who is Walker’s ex-brother-in-arms and will need to survive on Auroa after their recon mission fails and they’re stranded on the island.

Rather than the infiltration and strategic cartel dismantling of Wildlands, Breakpoint is more about survival, at least initially.

According to Ubisoft;

Injured, without support, and hunted down, players will live an intense military experience as they fight to survive, take down the Wolves and regain control of Auroa.

Steep slopes, accumulating injuries, and fatigue are new challenges for players to tackle as they test their survival skills in the varied terrains of Auroa.

Much like Wildlands, players will have total freedom to tackle missions and side-activities as they like. Breakpoint also introduces a new set of military features which includes carrying enemies and teammates bodies, using camo to blend into the environment and setting up camp.

When resting at a camp, players can manage their gear, change class and more.

PvP will be available at launch and will see players keep progression across both PvP and the PvE campaign. Additionally, Ubisoft is promising to keep Breakpoint updated as it did with Wildlands.

These updates will include new story arcs, classes, new features and, as a first for the series, Raids. More information about the Ghost Recon Breakpoint Raids will be announced at a later date. Ubisoft has stated that Raids are considered endgame content.

Three collector’s editions of Ghost Recon Breakpoint will be available; Gold, Ultimate and Wolves Collector’s. They each include the Year 1 Pass while the Ultimate Edition also includes the Ultimate Pack. The Wolves Collector’s Edition includes both and a figure of Walker, lithographs, dog tags, a map and a soundtrack.

Anyone who purchases any of the three special editions will get three-days early access. Pre-orders will give access to the Beta and a special Sentinel Corp. pack.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint will launch on October 4, 2019.
