Planet Zoo is the next simulation title from Frontier coming to PC this year

The developer of Planet Coaster and Jurassic World Evolution, Frontier, has announced Planet Zoo; “the ultimate zoo simulation.” Planet Zoo will feature the most authentic, living animals ever seen in a simulation game and will also include a deep management system and “limitless creativity.”

Frontier claims that players will be able to build and manage a modern zoo that puts “animal welfare and conservation” first.

Planet Zoo will be coming to PC in 2019 and Jonny Watts, Chief Creative Officer of Frontier said, “This is the zoo management game we’ve wanted to make for many years.”

Planet Zoo

Each and every animal in Planet Zoo is an “individual who thinks, feels and explores the world you build around them.” The animals care about their habitat and the other animals that live with them, developing complex community and societal needs.

Players can look after animals for the duration of their lives and help them breed to pass their DNA on the future generations.

Managing the zoo involves the big and small picture. Visitors react to every change you make and will be drawn in by the animals, exhibits and research projects that enable you to develop new tech. Players are also able to release animals into the wild to repopulate endangered species.

When it comes to the design of the zoo, players can shape scenery and habitats, create rivers and lakes, raise and lower mountains and valleys and even dig tunnels. Players can also share their zoos with friends and take designs from others to use in their own zoo.

Watts said;

We’ve challenged ourselves to build on the games we’ve made before and to carry the great legacy of classics like the Zoo Tycoon series forward.

We’re taking everything we’ve learned from our past work and focusing on modern values – incredible authenticity, rich management, limitless creativity and community sharing – to make our best-ever simulation game.

We hope you’ll join us when Planet Zoo launches later this year.

Planet Zoo is coming to PC later this year.
