Hindsight 20/20 is an action adventure from ex-BioWare and Sucker Punch devs coming in 2020

Triple-I Games is an independent developer composed of ex-BioWare, ArenaNet and Sucker Punch developers and Hindsight 20/20 is its first title. Releasing in 2020, Hindsight 20/20 is a third-person action adventure with morality-based decisions at its core.

According to Triple-I Games;

Hindsight 20/20 was born when Creative Director, Hemanshu Chhabra, really came to terms with what that phrase means as a philosophy. So many of us look back on decisions that we regret and almost all of us wish to do something about changing our past.

Hemanshu wanted to make a game that encapsulates this feeling and allows players to go back and really see what differences they could have made.

Hindsight 20/20 is coming to PC, PS4, Switch and Xbox One.

Hindsight 20/20

Set in the town of Champaner, a virus is threatening all life as it is turning the citizens into beasts known as Raakshasas. Responding to the threat, King Marcos authorises all Raakshasas be captured and executed.

The leader of the Raakshasas is Seth who flees and forms his own town, where all Raakshasas are given safe haven.

Jehan, a one-armed man, is at the centre of this conflict and players need to decide how he will act before every battle.

Will he uphold the values of his hometown by avoiding bloodshed? Or will the murder of his father fuel him with a rage that can only be quelled with the death of those responsible?

Jehan has access to both a stun baton and a sword and must choose whether to kill or merely wound. The behaviour of enemies in the game will change based on how players direct Jehan to act. Players will also gain access to different skills based on how they play. Should they kill, they’ll earn violent abilities and if they choose pacifism they’ll earn a different, more resourceful set of skills.

Examples of the decisions in Hindsight 20/20 are;

When a best friend considers suicide due to Raakshasa infection, talking him down may seem like the “right” thing to do. But if he turns and kills, who is at fault? Sparing Jehan’s father’s killer preserves Champaner’s values, but he may return, stronger and more ruthless than before

Hindsight 20/20 will be available for PC, PS4, Switch and Xbox One in 2020.
