Here’s Borderlands 3’s latest trailer and it’s filled with action and explosions

Today, 2K and Gearbox have pulled the curtain back a little more on Borderlands 3. The new and extended trailer gives us a closer look at the Vault Hunters, bad guys, guns and locations you’ll explore in Borderlands 3.

The trailer, on first viewing, doesn’t seem to reveal all that much. However, after watching it a few times, there are quite a few things you’ll notice.

Of course, the obvious things will stand out immediately, as they should, but there’s so much going on in the trailer that you’re going to want some repeat viewings.

Borderlands 3 Trailer

Watching the trailer, it’s pretty clear that a huge amount of time and effort has been expended by Gearbox to make Borderlands 3 look visually incredible. And this trailer shows just how pretty a game it’s going to be.

The same cel-shaded artwork is being used for Borderlands 3 but it’s been given a significant upgrade thanks to the power of the modern PCs, PS4 and Xbox One. Everything looks crisp and colourful, the lighting effects are incredible and the overall aesthetic is that of a comic book come to life.

Sure, we’ve seen the comic book art style before but none have looked as good as Borderlands 3

Seriously, just look at it (down below).

This new trailer also names our heroes and bad guys. The Vault Hunters are Moze, Fl4k, Amara and Zane. These new Vault Hunters come with all-new powers and abilities and their own stories. The bad guys are the Calypso Twins and while we still aren’t entirely sure, it’s looking more and more likely that Tyreen and Troy are both Sirens.

In all of the lore thus far, only women have been Sirens which would make Troy the first ever male Siren.

The trailer also confirms that players will, for the first time in the franchise, leave Pandora and explorer other planets. We’re assuming that Pandora will also be included, however, that’s yet to be confirmed.

Finally, the trailer reveals that Borderlands 3 will be released for PC, PS4 and Xbox One on September 13. This is the date that was accidentally leaked by some errant tweets on the official Borderlands account.
