Borderlands 3’s release date is confirmed for September

With the release of Borderlands 3’s latest trailer, the game’s release date has been confirmed.

Earlier this week, the official Borderlands twitter account tweeted and then quickly deleted two tweets. These tweets made mention of a September release date in addition to special editions and Epic Games Store exclusivity.

It turns out that whoever was in charge of the Borderlands twitter account accidentally pressed the button too soon and revealed the actual Borderlands 3 release date.

Borderlands 3 Release Date

As was revealed in those tweets, the Borderlands 3 release date is September 13, 2019. On that date, Borderlands 3 will be released for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. It will also come in a number of special editions.

These include the Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition, Super Deluxe Edition and Diamond Loot Chest Collector’s Edition.

Each of these different versions will include a range of content and collectible items.

Fans have been waiting for Borderlands 3 for a very long time, a fact that isn’t lost on Gearbox CEO and President Randy Pitchford. On Borderlands 3 he said;

For the past several years, the team at Gearbox Software has been devoting every ounce of our passion, creativity and love into making Borderlands 3 the biggest, baddest and most ambitious Borderlands adventure we’ve ever made.

Borderlands 3 is being crafted not only as a love letter to fans of the series, but also as an ideal entry point for new players to jump-in alone or cooperatively, on or off-line, in the latest and greatest instalment of the definitive best-in-class benchmark shooter-looter.

The original Borderlands was released in 2009, the sequel in 20012 and the Pre-Sequel in 2014. No wonder fans have been begging for Borderlands 3. Thankfully, there’s not much longer to wait now.

Borderlands 3 will be available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One on September 13, 2019.
