Check out these Spyro Reignited Trilogy videos compared to the originals

When a game is remade, it’s usually a given that it’s going to be given a visual overhaul. In a series of Spyro Reignited Trilogy videos, Activision and Toys for Bob have shown just how far Spyro has come.

Originally released in 1998, Spyro the Dragon was an early release for the first PlayStation. As such, it’s a low-poly, blurry, jagged looking game by today’s standards.

But when you compare it to the videos of the same locations and actions of Spyro Reignited Trilogy, you can see exactly what Insomniac was attempting way back when.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy Videos

From all the promotional images, videos and information we’ve seen, it’s clear that Toys for Bob is making Spyro Reignited Trilogy one of the best looking games of this generation.

It’s not until you see it compared with the original that you can truly appreciate the difference.

In the collection of videos below, you can see Spyro exploring, collecting gems, fighting enemies, gliding and more. The same actions are being taken in each video and it’s really quite extraordinary to compare the two.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy is launching for PS4 and Xbox One on September 21, 2018.
