Take a Fantastic Voyage through the digestive system in a special VR popup in Sydney

A world first VR experience is happening in Sydney this weekend. For one-day only, a special VR pop-up hosted by Metamucil and developed by Diesel Immersive will see people take a trip through the human digestive system.

The in-game digestive system is stylised and gamified to engage players while teaching them about digestive health.

Gutland VR Popup Sydney

Not only does the Gutland experience allow players to travel through the digestive system, it lets players touch everything they see.

Diesel Immersive’s Founder, Daniel Sim Lind said of the experience, “The VR experiences now possible in the home are extraordinary but while you can see a 3D world around you when it comes to touch you’re limited to holding game-style controllers.

“What sets Metamucil’s Gutland experience apart is that you can physically touch everything you see in the VR world.

Everything you place your hands on, real world, is exactly matched by virtual objects inside Gutland. We have built the world’s most tactile VR experience, with dozens of touchable and tracked objects.”

Gutland is set up as a green-screen experience which allows players to share videos of their journey. The shared videos, called Mixed Reality, show both the player and the VR world together.

Gutland VR Popup Sydney will be held at Darling Harbour on April 14, 2018.

  • Date:                     Saturday 14th April
  • Time:                    9 – 5pm
  • Location:             Harbourside Amphitheatre, Darling Harbour (close to Harbourside Shopping Centre), Sydney, NSW

The Gutland journey will take players through the mouth, stomach and intestines all while completing challenges and finally exiting out the human back-door.

Will you have a go?
