Dark Souls Remastered network test and amiibo coming to Switch

Dark Souls Remastered is easily one of the most anticipated titles coming to the Nintendo Switch. In the March Nintendo Direct, it was announced that a Dark Souls Remastered network test and amiibo are coming to the Switch version.

The network test will be a free download from the eShop. It will allow players to explore a small section of Dark Souls Remastered and it will give the developers a chance to see how the game performs.

Dark Souls Remastered Network Test & amiibo

It’s not just the Dark Souls Remastered network test that fans should be excited for. A special Solaire of Astora amiibo will launch on the same day as the game.

The amiibo will only be available via the Nintendo AUNZ eBay store for the Australian & New Zealand region. As far as I can tell from the Nintendo Direct, the Solaire of Astora amiibo will simply allow players to perform the ‘Praise the Sun’ emote.

The emote can be unlocked through gameplay, so it seems the amiibo is more of a collector’s item. It does make me wonder whether or not we might see the inclusion of the Solaire of Astora in Super Smash Bros on Switch.

Details of the network test’s release date, timings and availability have not yet been announced. We do know that it will appear on the eShop before Dark Souls Remastered’s release and that it will be free.

Dark Souls Remastered will be available for Switch on May 25, 2018 and it will cost $59.95 AUD.

The Solaire of Astora amiibo will be available on the same day from the Nintendo AUNZ eBay store. Nintendo has stated the amiibo will be available in limited qualities, so make sure you keep your eye on the page.
