The Witcher’s Geralt might appear in Soul Calibur 6 this year

Soul Calibur 6 was announced late last year and since then, fan theories have been in overdrive. Now, CD Projekt Red has added fuel to the fire, by suggesting that The Witcher’s Geralt in Soul Calibur 6 is a distinct possibility.

In a post on Twitter, CD Projekt Red’s Community Manager Marcin Momot asked fans how they’d fell about Geralt stepping outside of The Witcher for the first time.

The Witcher’s Geralt in Soul Calibur 6

While Momot didn’t specifically mention Soul Calibur 6, it’s the best bet as to which game Geralt could appear in.

Soul Calibur has a history of featuring guest characters all the way back to the original Soulcalibur on Dreamcast. In that game, Yoshimitsu was the very first guest character after appearing in the Tekken series.

As Soul Calibur sequels were developed and released on various platforms, the calibre (no pun intended) of guest characters increased and broadened. Soul Calibur 2 featured Link on GameCube, Heihachi on PS2 and Spawn on Xbox.

Other releases have seen characters from Xenosaga and Tekken as well as Yoda and Darth Vader, Ezio from Assassin’s Creed and Kratos’ from God of War.

The Witcher’s Geralt in Soul Calibur 6 would be a perfect fit for the series and considering The Witcher is a Bandai Namco distributed title it makes sense. Let’s hope it’s true.

Soul Calibur 6 will be available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One later this year.
