Overwatch League’s first ever Stage Finals will include a $125,000 bonus for the top three teams

The Overwatch League’s first stage is nearing completion and the first Stage Finals will take place on Sunday, 11 February AEDT. The top three teams at the completion of Stage 1 will battle for a share of $125,000 USD and the bragging rights that go with the win. The Overwatch League Stage Finals will be hotly contested, however, some teams have more chance of participating than others.

According to the official Overwatch League Blog the Dallas Fuel, Florida Mayhem, LA Gladiators, San Francisco Shock, and the Shanghai Dragons are all mathematically eliminated from the Stage 1 Finals. Four other teams have slim chances to make the grade with three others being hot favourites.

The Philadelphia Fusion has a 12.9% chance to make the Finals, the Boston Uprising has 13.9%, the Houston Outlaws has 14.3% and the LA Valiant has 15.5%. The three top teams New York Excelsior, London Spitfire and Seoul Dynasty each have a 93%, 91% and 51% chance to make the Stage Finals.

Current Standings

This Sunday, the top three teams from Stage 1 will compete from 12pm AEDT. The semi-finals will take place between the second and third-ranked teams with the winner of that match facing off against the top-ranked team from 2pm AEDT.

The winner of Stage 1 will walk away with $100,000 USD and the runner-up will receive $25,000 USD. The matches will take place at the Blizzard Arena in Los Angeles. Viewers can tune-in on Twitch and the Overwatch League website. The matches will also be broadcast on the MLG and Overwatch League apps on Android and iOS.

The Overwatch League’s inaugural season is live now and will feature four stages that all count towards each team’s standings in the postseason. Season One ends June 16, 2018.

Overwatch is available now for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
