Assassin’s Creed: Origins minimum PC requirements released

Ubisoft has finally released the minimum PC requirements for Assassin’s Creed: Origins. In a blog post, Ubisoft Kiev’s Jose Araiza gave a rundown of the specs and supported hardware at launch.

Araiza is keen to stress that “The PC platform overall is really important to us.” His team in Kiev worked together with Ubisoft Montreal to develop the PC version in parallel. It was key for Ubisoft that as many hardware configurations as possible were able to play Assassin’s Creed: Origins.

“We worked very hard and were able to keep the minimum requirements to what they were on Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate [two years ago]. This means that the range of supported machines is wider than ever.”

The minimum PC requirements will allow players to experience that game in 720p and 30fps (frames per second). Higher end PCs will potentially be able to run in 4K resolution at 30fps or higher. Araiza explained how Assassin’s Creed: Origins uses a dynamic resolution rendering technique to keep the framerate as close to target as possible.

“To keep the framerate as close to possible FPS at all times by adjusting the frame resolution on the fly, which in most cases will be invisible to the player. On PC, players can actually choose what baseline framerate they want to target: 30, 45, or 60 FPS. They can also select their maximum framerate between 30, 45, 60, or 90 FPS, or decide to completely uncap it.”
