How to change the weather and time of day in Mafia: Definitive Edition

After you’ve completed the campaign and get into some free-roaming in Mafia: Definitive Edition, you might be wondering what there is for you to do. You can hunt for collectibles or just explore and you can do during different times of the day and with different weather.

Changing the weather and time of day, like changing costumes, takes place at Salieri’s Bar. On the ground floor, inside the mob meeting room is where you’ll change the time of day. In the office upstairs is where you’ll change the weather.

To do so, you simply interact with the paintings on the wall depicting the time/weather you’d like.

Mafia: Definitive Edition Weather

You are able to choose night and day, cloudy, rainy and more. The only time it will come in handy is when you need to complete one of the bonus missions at night. The payphone won’t even ring during the day so, to complete that mission (and unlock the Alien costume) you’ll need to head to the bar and set the time to night.

Other than unlocking the Alien costume, changing the time of day/weather doesn’t have any real impact. Cars will drive differently in the wet though so if you’re doing any bonus missions, it’s probably a good idea to set the weather to sunny.

Driving in Mafia is difficult enough and you don’t want to make it any more difficult for yourself.

Mafia: Definitive Edition is now available.
