Resident Evil 3 – How to Get the Magnum

The Magnum has long been part of every Resident Evil title’s arsenal. In Resident Evil 3, it’s the last weapon you can get in-game and it packs one hell of a wallop. It’s also the most easily missable weapon in the game so make sure you get it with our handy guide. If you’re looking for how to get the Shotgun or the Grenade Launcher, we have those too.

The Magnum though can be found once you take control of Jill for a second time. Once she wakes up in the hospital and Carlos is gone, head into the hospital but don’t go straight through the Lockpick door that leads to the underground and NEST.

Instead, keep going through the hospital and make your way upstairs.

Once you’re upstairs, go outside onto the roof and back inside so you’re in the central, upstairs corridor. Go along the centre walkway that leads to the Nurse’s Station and then turn left.

This is the area with piled-up chairs and a tonne of blood on the floor. There’s a small space at the bottom of the pile of chairs which was too small for Carlos to go through.

Jill can squeeze through though. So go through and once on the other side, jump through the window to your left, like you did with Carlos to make your way down to the courtyard below. You’ll see a dead Umbrella soldier (looking very much like Hunk) and a case lying next to him.

Open it up and claim your Magnum.

Resident Evil 3 is available now.
