LG Electronics has launched the Apple TV app for compatible smart TVs from its 2019 range. The app lets owners easily subscribe and watch Apple’s streaming service Apple TV+, which has some exciting original shows like See, The Morning Show, Servant and Little America. The company had already announced that all its 2020 TVs would ship with the app preinstalled and are now delivering on their promise to bring it to older models.
The Apple TV app will be available from the LG Home Launcher and will give owners access to their iTunes video library where they can buy or rent over 100,000 quality movies and TV shows.

And because Apple TV+ provides content in Dolby Vision, LG owners are in for a visual treat thanks to the companies long time support for the HDR format. Park Hyoung-sei, president of the LG Home Entertainment Company, says the company is committed to offering customers the latest in home entertainment through technological innovations.
“By bringing the Apple TV app and Apple TV+ to even more TV models, we are once again demonstrating our determination to meet consumers’ needs and add value to our products.”
Native support for Apple AirPlay 2 and HomeKit make LG’s 2019 models a perfect companion for users who own iPhone, iPad and Mac. The integration allows them to mirror or share their device screens on their TV, play music and even control some basic functions of their TV via Siri voice commands.
The Apple TV app is available now on all LG OLED TVs and compatible LG Super UHD TVs with select UHD TVs added later this month. Apple TV app will also come to 2018 TVs later this year via an over-the-air firmware update.
