Persona 5 Royal trailer introduces new Phantom Thieves

Persona 5 Royal, the expanded version of the original game, is coming to PS4 in March. Today, Atlus has released a trailer introducing the Phantom Thieves and new member Kasumi Yoshizawa. Kasumi Yoshizawa is a gymnast who also transferred to Shujin at the time of the main character. She joins the Phantom Thieves under the codename Violet.

Also coming to Persona 5 Royal is a student counsellor named Takuto Maruki. While playing Persona 5 Royal, players will experience a brand-new semester at Shujin, a new area of Tokyo, new confidants and all-new story content.

Persona 5 follows the protagonist as he dons the mask of Joker and joins the Phantom Thieves in order to “break the chains of modern society.”

Persona 5 Royal

In our review of Persona 5 we wrote;

If you’re curious about the latest entry, but have never played Persona before, Persona 5 is a great place to start. It’s accessible, artful, plays like a dream and features a dynamite plot.

Mark it down as an early contender for Game of the Year.

With an expanded story, additional characters, new areas to explore and more, you’re just going to be getting even more Persona 5. It’s bound to be a good thing.

Persona 5 Royal will be available on PS4 on March 31, 2020. The launch edition costs $99.95 AUD RRP and comes with a steel book case and Dynamic PS4 theme.
