Dungeons & Dragons Dark Alliance is an ARPG coming in 2020

Wizards of the Coast and video game developer Tuque have announced Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance during The Game Awards. Coming to PC and consoles in the latter half of 2020, Dark Alliance is being billed as a spiritual successor to Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance. Driven by third-person, hack and slash action, Dark Alliance will challenge players to battle iconic monsters, meet legendary characters and collect tonnes of loot.

Tuque Game founder Jeff Hattem took to the stage at The Game Awards to introduce Dark Alliance and explain his team’s take on Dungeons & Dragons

Starring the legendary Drizzt Do’Urden, Dark Alliance is set in Icewind Dale and will test players skills and wits, according to Hattem.

Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance

Hattem said of the new game;

From the moment I founded Tuque, our team has known that we wanted to bring our passion for D&D and creativity to the Dark Alliance series.

We’re taking players on an epic journey through the harsh and violent, Icewind Dale, where they’re going to need to use their wits, their weapons and their party members to help them survive the iconic monsters we’re going to send their way.

Using some of the most recognisable characters in Dungeons & Dragons Hattem is sure that fans will love the story and playing together. With four-player co-op, players will be able to play as “Drizzt Do’Urden or one of his unique companions Catti-Brie, Bruenor, or Wulfgar.”

The Dark Alliance Twitter account also announced that Swedish Melo-Death Gods, In Flames, are providing music for the game.
