The month of October had witnessed a lot of changes and a huge increase in the competition when it comes to professional wrestling. The different brands in professional wrestling have been trying to grab the better rating anyway — that’s how the competition goes and the WWE is well aware of that.
The All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite is relatively a newer brand when compared to the World Wrestling Entertainment which has successfully completed a total of 2500 weekly episodes.
However, with the two shows of big brands colliding, the things were bound to get heated up but unfortunately for the ones eyeing that, this thing was not made to happen and the WWE made sure of that.
WWE AEW Debut
On the 2 October 2019 episode of WWE NXT, it received a big competition from the rival brand of AEW Dynamite and it lost in the ratings. AEW has a better rating due to its well-talented rosters and a nothing tom lose the attitude of the scriptwriters. However, the things were expected to go soar when the WWE NXT was found to get on the second position when it came to the ratings.
However, while the fans expected a fiery reaction from the WWE, they made a rather calculated statement and it went as a congratulatory message to the All Elite Wrestling. The WWE released an official statement which read as:
Congratulations to AEW on a successful premiere. The real winners of last night’s head-to-head telecasts of NXT on USA Network and AEW on TNT are the fans, who can expect Wednesday nights to be a competitive and wild ride as this is a marathon, not a one-night sprint.
This was quite a mature statement by WWE as they have been in the business for so long that they know how to handle the things. There wasn’t any need of going behind the cutthroat approach this time and that is reflected in the congratulatory message that came from the WWE. However, on analysing the things properly, the hidden message comes out quite naturally.
WWE has successfully accepted that AEW is not an underdog and they are well in the competitive range of the WWE. the WWE is definitely going to play hard on its tools and the members of the show are going to have a hard time as they are now trying to bring in the main roster of the WWE to NXT.
These things are going to be well received as we have already seen quite a few attempts at the takeover of the WWE Raw and WWE Smackdown brands by the NXT members.
Even Finn Balor, the first-ever Universal Champion is now on the NXT brand and such things are bound to turn the odds into the favour of the WWE. Also, the WWE has also made itself very clear that they are the bigger players in the game as the wild ride they’re into now is more like a marathon which takes a lot of time instead of a sprint.
While the initial success might be great for the AEW Dynamite, but with only 6 episodes they are not going to surpass the WWE anytime soon — they are a tough nut to crack, after all.
