Gears 5 Collectibles Guide – Act 2, Chapter 5

Gears of War fans have plenty of reason to be excited as Gears 5 is here. Starring Kait Diaz, Del Walker, JD Fenix and, of course, Marcus Fenix, the latest entry in the franchise continues the story established in Gears of War 4. Set 25-years or so after Gears of War 3, it was revealed that the Locust didn’t die and had instead evolved into the Swarm.

In Gears 5, Kait is seeking answers to her lineage, especially her connection to the Locust. Humanity is facing all-out war with the Swarm and maybe figuring out who Kait is, holds the key to stopping the Swarm once and for all.

As is standard in Gears of War, Gears 5 has collectibles for players to find in most chapters.

This guide is for Act 2, Chapter 5 – Dirtier Little Secrets.

Gears 5 Collectibles

The first collectible in Chapter 5 can be found just before you head inside. Walk around to the right in the cave until you begin to loop back around.

You’ll see a flat, frozen area in front of you and in the centre of this area is the first collectible.

Inside the facility, you’ll come to a frozen lab. In the centre of the far wall is a component hatch.

To the right of the hatch is a desk and on the right-hand side of the desk is a file; the second collectible.

The third collectible can be found right after the conversation/cutscene. After you regain control of Kait, turn to your right and you’ll see the collectible on the floor.

Make sure you grab it before you continue as you can miss it.

The fourth collectible is found in a corridor in the frozen section of the level. As you’re giving chase and trying to catch up to the robot, keep an eye out on the right-hand side of the level.

You’ll come to a doorway with a few frozen Locust. Just before the door, on the right, you’ll see a dead body.

At its feet is the fourth collectible.

The fifth collectible is located in the room where you turn off the lockdown.

After you have turned the lockdown off, turn around and head back the way you came, but don’t leave the room. As you near the door, turn right to look towards a desk with some medical equipment.

On this desk is the fifth collectible.

The sixth and final collectible is located in the cell you come across right towards the end of the level.

This cell has a mat and cushions on the floor as well as a long metal bench on the left-hand side. The collectible is located in the centre of the floor.

That’s it for Act 2, Chapter 5 and Act 2 in general.

Gears 5 is available on PC and Xbox One.
