Gears of War fans have plenty of reason to be excited as Gears 5 is here. Starring Kait Diaz, Del Walker, JD Fenix and, of course, Marcus Fenix, the latest entry in the franchise continues the story established in Gears of War 4. Set 25-years or so after Gears of War 3, it was revealed that the Locust didn’t die and had instead evolved into the Swarm.
In Gears 5, Kait is seeking answers to her lineage, especially her connection to the Locust. Humanity is facing all-out war with the Swarm and maybe figuring out who Kait is, holds the key to stopping the Swarm once and for all.
As is standard in Gears of War, Gears 5 has collectibles for players to find in most chapters.
This guide is for Act 2, Chapter 3 – Forest For the Trees.
Gears 5 Collectibles
The first collectible in Chapter 3 is found on the inside of the building you first go in. While Del will go over to the left, head to the right and you’ll find a metal desk.
On top of the desk is the first collectible.
The next collectible comes once you’re the facility. You’ll be passing lots of medical rooms with x-rays and other creepy surgical instruments.
In one room, there is a long, empty slab in the centre of the room. At the far left end of the room, you’ll find the next collectible.
From here, continue on and you’ll come to another creep surgical room. This one has IV bags hanging up and an infant incubator.
On the left-hand side of this room, next to a bed with what looks to be a corpse covered with a sheet, you’ll find a file.
The file is sitting underneath a pelvic x-ray that’s hanging on the wall.
As you continue, you’ll come to an office of sorts. This room has desks against one wall, a pinboard, more x-rays and a wall of screens.
On a desk, in front of a computer monitor is your next collectible. Another file.
The next collectible is found in a room with a dead Locust on a slab. There are some IV bags on the left-hand side of the Locust. There are also bright lights shining towards you as you enter the room.
Go to the left side of the dead Locust, where the IV bags are, and on a small table is yet another file.
The last collectible in Chapter 3 is found in a server room. As you enter the room there are banks of servers on the left and on the right there computers, monitors and other equipment.
In the middle of the shelves is a half-empty bank of servers and on the middle shelf is your last collectible.
