The White Crow tells the story of Russian Rudolf Nureyev’s defection to the West

Directed by Ralph Fiennes, The White Crow tells the true story of Russian ballet dancer Rudolf Nureyev. In 1961 Nureyev defected to the West after travelling outside of the Soviet Union for the very first time. As a member of the Kirov Ballet Company, at just 22-years old, Nureyev travels to Paris and is delighted by the city and the lifestyle therein.

Wanting to experience the culture, art and music Nureyev draws the suspicion of the KGB officers sent to watch him. When confronted by the KGB, Nureyev is forced to make an impossible decision. One that puts his life and his friends and family in danger.
