Back in February, we reported that Skybound Games and Beamdog were bringing DnD to console. Classic DnD PC games Baldur’s Gate, Baldur’s Gate ll, Icewind Dale, Planescape: Torment, and Neverwinter Nights are all making their way to console.
Now, we know when each of them will be released and how they’ll be packeged and bundled.
Both Baldur’s Gate titles and the Siege of Dragonspear expansion will be bundled together. Icewind Dale and Planescape: Torment will also be bundled while Neverwinter Nights will be sold on its own.
Each of the games has been given the subtitle ‘Enhanced Edition.’
DnD Console
All three bundles of these DnD console games will be available physically and digitally. At this stage, it looks as though the only way to purchase a physical edition in Australia is through the Skybound Games store, however hopefully some local retailers stock them closer to the release dates.
These games have been tailor-made to suit playing on consoles and each has been given native support for high definition widescreen displays. Additionally, tonnes of work has gone into making these games great on a console including;
controls optimized for console controllers, new standalone content, new characters and classes, new voice sets, expanded character creation options, improved multiplayer functionality, redesigns of the UI and UX, bug fixes, balance changes and more.
Baldur’s Gate has even been given all-new original content to bridge the gap between it and the sequel. Skybound Games CEO Ian Howe said;

Both the Baldur’s Gate and Planescape/Icewind Dale bundles will be released on September 24 in the US and September 27 worldwide. Neverwinter Nights arrives December 3 in the US and December 6 worldwide.
