The Padre is a retro stylised 3D survival horror game coming out this month

The Padre, from developer Shotgun With Glitters, is an odd looking, survival horror game. Inspired by classic horror titles, it sees players seeking a lost cardinal while playing as the titular “father.”

Far from home, alone and without his demon-slaying equipment, the poor old sod takes shelter in a spooky mansion. We can see where this is going.

The mansion seems to embody some strange supernatural power and it’s up to the padre to seek it out. All while trying to survive.

While trapped inside the mansion, players will have to keep themselves occupied (and alive) by solving puzzles and fighting monsters and demons.

Shotgun With Glitter also states that if players fail too many times, they’ll be greeted with a permanent game over screen.

The developer has also said;

The art style makes use of the 3D pixel art or voxel style and is an homage to the golden era of horror-adventure games.

Each scene, room, corridor and even textures and materials used were meticulously crafted and are different from one another.

The Padre is coming to PC (Steam), PS4, Switch and Xbox One on April 16 as a digital-only title.
