BioWare’s Anthem is undoubtebly the most notable release of 2019 but for all the wrong reasons. Bugs galore, content drought, loot drops controversies and various performance issues. But thanks to NVIDIA’s latest wizardy, things may have turned around — at least where performance is concerned.
Deep Learning Super Sampling or DLSS is a technology NVIDIA introduced with the launch of the RTX line of Turing powered graphics. It uses machine learning to improve your graphics settings and frame rates.
NVIDIA’s supercomputers study hundreds of thousands of PC’s running Anthem to learn how to render the best image quality at a lower frame rate cost. Basically, no more trial and error tinkering for hours with obscure settings about hair works, anti-aliasing and shadow map depth.
Anthem 4K NVIDIA DLSS 40% Performance
Looking at the chart below, we can clearly see the jump in performance. Impressively, even the lowest tier RTX 2060 can now run Anthem in 4K at almost 40FPS which is far more than the Xbox One X.
These numbers are certainly impressive but what’s even betters is that NVIDIA’s neural learning network will continue learning and improving. This means players will see better performance with each new update of their Game Ready Drivers. That is awesome.
Additionally, NVIDIA Highlights is a new capture option that will automatically capture certain gameplay events for you. These can be killing an Ursix or Titan or triggering one of the specific view points littered around Anthem’s gorgeous world. If you’ve ever had an awesome moment when you killed the Tyrant Queen and it dropped two Masterworks and a Legendary, you want that recorded.
The new DLSS update for Anthem is available immediately and you can get it here.
