Rainbow Six Siege’s first season of Year 4 kicks of today with Operation Burnt Horizon.
Operation Burnt Horizon introduces two new Aussie Operators — Mozzie and Gridlock — and a brand new map; Outback.
Those players who own the Year 4 Pass can start playing with Mozzie and Gridlock right away. Everyone else will gain access on March 14 and will need to purchase the new Operators with Renown or R6 Credits.
Operation Burnt Horizon
While you’ll need to purchase Mozzie and Gridlock or own the Year 4 Pass, the new map and other updates/improvements are free for all players.
Ubisoft describes Mozzie and Gridlock as follows;
- Mozzie, an Australian Defender, that can hack Attackers’ drones and take control of them with his Pest Launcher. Having Mozzie in the team gives a significant advantage to the Defenders, and Attackers better watch their drones if they do not want to lose crucial intel.
- Gridlock is an Australian Attacker who can deploy Trax Stinger spike mats capable of slowing down and hurting Defenders stepping on them. This feature, unique for an Attacker, enables them to use the Trax as an obstacle to reshape the map and control an area.
Coming along with Operation Burnt Horizon is the Newcomer Playlist. Designed for those players under level 50, the Newcomer Playlist helps to teach the basics of Siege. This playlist features Chalet, Bank, and Consulate in Bomb mode. Attackers can vote for a spawn point, while defenders bomb sites are automatically assigned.
The Casual Playlist has been improved to make sure the flow between Newcomer and Ranked is smooth and easy. Finally, Ranked Mode’s minimum level has been raised to 30.
