HyperX Cloud MIX with Bluetooth Targets Mobile Gamers

HyperX is well known for excellent PC and gaming peripherals that don’t break the bank. The recently released HyperX Cloud MIX looks to keep that tradition.

Joining the beloved Cloud family, the Cloud MIX is the first to bring Bluetooth connectivity, aimed squarely at the ever growing mobile gaming market.

HyperX Cloud MIX — Now with Bluetooth

The HyperX Cloud MIX retains a similar design to its predecessor which is not a bad thing. The same comfortable ear cups with 40mm drivers and HyperX’s Dual Chamber Technology return. HyperX says these are capable of Hi-Res audio citing frequency range topping off at 40KHz for crisp sound.

The new addition, of course, is all the magical Bluetooth tech and battery hidden which add a bit of extra bulk to the earcups. You also get new on-ear volume and playback controls. Speaking of battery, the HyperX Cloud MIX has a power rating of up to 20 hours of use which is pretty good.

Being a gaming headset, the HyperX Cloud MIX primarily works with a braided 3.5mm cable for use on consoles and PC but switches to Bluetooth when you want to connect to your smartphone. The braided cable has an in-line mic but a detachable boom mic for better game chat is provided in the box.

Our goal was to produce a headset that not only meets the standards of a professional gamer, but also offers the versatility for anyone to use anywhere.

The new HyperX Cloud MIX is available right now at JB Hi-Fi for an eyebrow-raising AUD $299. This puts rather close to more premium headsets like the Arctis, Razer and Astro’s. We have yet to review this to see if the premium is justifiable.
