Remedy’s new game will be unveiled at E3 2018

Remedy, developer of Max Payne, Alan Wake and Quantum Break, will unveil its new game, P7 at E3 2018. P7, or Project 7, is merely a codename, so what the game turns out to be is anyone’s guess.

Remedy has parted ways with Microsoft and so the P7 game will appear as part of Italian publisher 505 Games’ line-up.

Fans will no doubt be hoping that Remedy’s P7 game will be Alan Wake 2, but we doubt it. Unfortunately.

Remedy P7 Game at E3 2018

In February 2018, Remedy moved P7 from pre-production into full production and is expected to ship the game in 2019.

Remedy has not released many details on P7, but have said it will be a “cinematic third-person action game set in a new Remedy-created universe.” It’s also been speculated that it may include some form of games-as-service functionality or online shared world experience.

These speculations come from job listings posted by Remedy, but as usual, job listings do not provide concrete details. The job listing did include interesting phrasing though.

Do you design challenge systems that are so moreish your players plan their week around them? Have you already designed the next Battle Royale? Are you always among the first to find Xur?

It certainly sounds like a game that involves online elements and shared-world mechanics doesn’t it? Remedy’s description of P7 that it’ll be a “long-lasting experience” also makes it sound like it’s headed down the games as service route.

We’ll know more when it’s revealed at E3 2018.
