Shining Resonance Refrain release date announced, meet the heroes in new trailer

SEGA has announced the Shining Resonance Refrain release date and given fans a look at the game’s heroes.

Shining Resonance Refrain is an expanded remaster of Shining Resonance which was released for PS3 in Japan in 2014. The original was never released in the west, however, that’s all going to change in July when it is released for PC, PS4, Switch and Xbox One.

A part of the long-running Shining franchise, Shining Resonance Refrain sees the island of Alfheim under attack and only Yuma Ilvern, the boy with the soul of the Shining Dragon can save it.

Shining Resonance Refrain Release Date

Shining Resonance Refrain features a diverse cast of characters, all helping Yuma, save Alfheim from the Empire of Lombardia.

Yuma wields the Dragon Resonator Vandelhorn which can deal lots of damage as he moves around the battlefield. He can also transform into the Shining Dragon for brief periods, which allows him to deal massive damage.

Yuma’s companions include Sonia, Kirika, Rinna, Agnum, Lestin, Excella and Jinas. Each party member brings their own special skills and weaponry to battle and each will be needed to make the mission a success.

Full details of each of the party members can be found on a post on the PlayStation Blog, but rest assured, the characters fill the standard roles you’d find in a JRPG. There are mages, healers, warriors and everything else you’d expect to find.

You can watch the heroes trailer below for a look at each character too. In the trailer’s description SEGA writes;

A band’s music is only as good as its members and your team in Shining Resonance Refrain is no different. Carrying the powerful weapon/instruments called Armonics, each hero can devastate your enemies with a powerful melody.

Shining Resonance Refrain will make its debut in the west when it’s released for PC, PS4, Switch and Xbox One on July 10, 2018.
