Disgaea Remake, Disgeaea Refine announced for PS4, Switch, launching in Japan this July

Earlier this year, a remake of Disgaea: Hour of Darkness was announced, but details remained scarce. Until now.

Thanks to Degenki and Ryokutya we can tell you that the remake is called Disgaea Refine and that it’s coming to both PS4 and Switch this year. 

In Japan at least. It will be released on July 26 in Japan, though no word of a western release was mentioned.

The announcement of Disgaea Refine came with the reveal of a limited edition. The limited edition will cost 9,200 yen and includes a copy of the game, soundtrack, desk calendar and a special box.

The Disgaea Remake will include improved visuals and a refined gameplay system, though additional details weren’t provided.

Disgaea: Hour of Darkness is a tactical RPG release for PlayStation 2 in 2003. It was ported to PSP, DS and PC, but has never been given a remaster or remake. 

It was the first in a successful franchise and was incredibly well-received on release. Fans of the original are sure to be excited by the remake.
