Mario Tennis Aces launches in June, free online tournament happening before release

In the March Nintendo Direct, Nintendo revealed a huge amount of details on Mario Tennis Aces. Along with the details and release date, Nintendo announced a Mario Tennis Aces free online tournament.

The Mario Tennis Aces free online tournament will be available as a free demo to download from the Switch eShop.

To participate in the Mario Tennis Aces free online tournament, players will need to hold a Nintendo Account. The online services including online play are free until the paid service launches in September 2018.

When Mario Tennis Aces is released on June 22, it will be playable for up to 4-players locally and online. Mario Tennis Aces will be playable in both TV, handheld and tabletop mode and will even allow four Switches to be connected locally for four-players.

Players will be able to use the Joy-Cons and Pro Controller for standard controls but will also be able to swing the Joy-Cons and use motion controls should they choose.

Mario Tennis Aces will be available for Switch on June 22. It will retail in Australia for $79.95 AUD.
