Assassin’s Creed Discovery Tour is available for Origins as a free update

Assassin’s Creed Discovery tour was first announced and detailed late last year. Now, it’s arrived and is available as a free update to all Assassin’s Creed: Origins owners.

The Assassin’s Creed Discovery Tour is a brand-new way to play. It removes all enemies and time or gameplay constraints. Instead, it provides a free-roaming, educational entertainment tool.

Players will be able to explore the entire world map from Origins in Assassin’s Creed Discovery Mode. In addition, Ubisoft has created and curated 75 special guided tours.

Assassin’s Creed Discovery Tour Guided Tours

These tours have been crafted and curated with the assistance of historians and Egyptologists.

With the Discovery Tour by Assassin’s Creed: Ancient Egypt, we give the chance to everyone interested in Ancient Egypt to enjoy the beauty of it and realize that video games can be a source of inspiring knowledge

– Jean Guesdon, Creative Director of Assassin’s Creed Origins

The Assassin’s Creed Discovery Tour came about through discussions with professors and historians according to Ubisoft.

We’ve been in touch with teachers from the very first instalment of Assassin’s Creed games about ten years back. Many of them already used the games during their History classes but soon came to realize that what they needed was an easily accessible educative tool based in our historical reconstructions.

With the Discovery Tour by Assassin’s Creed: Ancient Egypt you can visualize and understand thousands of things from Egyptian history in their actual context. As both a game and a learning tool, it is quite a unique asset for teachers to integrate as part of their history classes.

– Maxime Durand, in-house Historian at Ubisoft Montreal.

The Assassin’s Creed Discovery Tour is available as a free update for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. It will also be released as a standalone product on Steam and Uplay.

Assassin’s Creed: Origins is available now.
