Yakuza 6 delayed by one month, now launching in April

Bad news Yakuza fans. SEGA announced on the official Yakuza Twitter earlier today that Yakuza 6 has been delayed by one month and will now be launching in April. The tweet didn’t go into details on the delay. It did mention that Yakuza 6 delayed by one month means a smoother and better launch for fans.

Originally scheduled to launch exclusively for PS4 on March 20, 2018, Yakuza 6 will now launch on April 18. According to SEGA, the delay was a “tough business decision” and gives the developer “more time to line things up for launch.” On February 27, a demo will launch on the PlayStation Store and it will allow players to transfer their save data when Yakuza 6 launches officially.

Yakuza 6 is the 9th title in the Yakuza franchise to be released in the west. It was released in Japan on 8 December 2016. The delay between the Japanese and western release for Yakuza 6 is slightly longer than other titles. This may be due to the all-new Dragon Engine that creates lifelike animations and physics and much more interactivity. Fights can now break out on the street and transition into the nearest Poppo store or restaurant.

Yakuza 6 will be available in a regular edition for $99.95 AUD and a Premium Edition for $139.95 AUD. The Launch Edition includes a copy of the game and a Hardcover art book.
